GMAT – Course

Welcome to our GMAT course! It is our hope that we will address all of your questions, but if that is not the case, please do not hesitate to write us an email!

Our mission

Originally, our course was targeted exclusively to candidates who had to score extremely well because they wanted to gain admission to highly competitive programs. However, we now understand that candidates with a variety of ambitions can benefit from our course. All of our students have the opportunity to achieve scores well beyond their expectations!

Course outline

After registering for the course, you will receive a list of suggested readings to prepare for the course. In order to familiarize yourself with the format of the test before the course begins, we recommend that you read the Official Guide for GMAT Review, which is published by ETS, the organization administering the test. Before the class begins, we will send you a complete test, which you will complete at home and return to us, in order that we may tailor the content of the course to your individual needs.

The course lasts for one weekend and is structured around small lectures. Numerous handouts will be distributed to course participants throughout the lectures. We focus on explaining the right solutions, and also teaching you the most efficient methods for solving any given problem. Specifically, we will teach you to use a variety of less well-known techniques to help you solve GMAT questions faster and with greater accuracy.

After the course, we will provide you with a thorough collection of exercises, which will reinforce what you have learned throughout the weekend. After working through these practice materials, you will take another complete test and send us your answers. We will then grade your test and send back the results complete with further suggestions, explanations, and strategies. It is important that you then take the GMAT while our techniques are still fresh in your mind to maximize your score. We recommend sitting for the real test approximately three weeks after the course while training hard in the meantime.

The Manhattan Review Advantage

We are frequently asked about the advantages of preparing with our system as opposed to using books and CDs, which are available in countless numbers. We admit that you can prepare fairly well with these materials - that is, if you do not need a top score on the test. We are certain that everyone who takes our course will gain a higher score than if they prepared exclusively with mass-market texts. The major weakness in preparing with books and CDs is that all such materials are written for the American mass market and the majority of those applicants do not intend to apply to top business schools.

The authors of the books target an average MBA applicant and leave out more complicated material, which can mean the difference between a good and an excellent result. If someone in the US wants to score extremely high on the GMAT, he or she would also visit a course or even get a personal coach. The best trainers in New York charge up to $300 per hour (Source: New York Times 9 August 1999)!

To sum up, preparing with our course has the following major advantages over preparation with books and CDs:

We provide comprehensive strategies that are not contained within mass-market test preparation literature

No book or CD will grade your analytical writing assessments or answer your questions

We supply illustrations of solutions, concepts, and strategies together with original questions, which are superior to those present in any book or CD

Visualization and discussion in a seminar environment enables you to better employ complex strategies than non-interactive ways of studying

Our class will be more motivational and fun than any book!
