GMAT – Books
The only book that contains actual GMAT questions is The Official Guide for GMAT Review published
by the ETS. All other books simulate the questions on the exams more or less unsuccessfully. We highly
recommend using the ETS book because it is the only publication that accurately prepares you for the
types of questions you will face in the exam. Further questions and strategies for test-day are included
in the numerous handouts distributed in the course. Using The Official Guide for GMAT Review and our
course materials will provide you with the best possible preparation for the test.
Although it is not needed during the course, we also highly recommend that you download the free
Power Prep Software
to familiarize yourself with the actual interface of the test. Regardless of
whether and when you plan to attend the course, you will need those materials to adequately prepare
for the exam. Please order ahead of time, since there are occasional shortages, and the delivery time
can take up to a couple of weeks.
Please note that our course provides benefits that are not available in self-preparation books.
In addition to test strategies, getting feedback from experienced editors on your AWA essays will give
you a much better chance of scoring well on that portion of the test.
The best combination of test preparation strategies is to purchase ETS's book, the Power Prep Software,
and then take our GMAT prep course once you are already familiar with the exam's format and the types
of questions. This will allow you to learn and apply the tips we will show you quickly and effectively.
The result will be an improved score for you. This combination of authentic questions and valuable
feedback and advice is the best preparation you can give to yourself.
